Tee

A Tee is a pipe fitting which is shaped like a "T" and has two outlets at 90° to the single inlet connection. Tees are generally used to combine or split a fluid flow in a pipeline system.

Types & Selection
● Straight Tees (Equal Tee) have inlets and outlets of the same size, ideal for equal-diameter branch connections.
● Reducing Tees have a smaller branch outlet, typically at 90° to the main run, used when the branch line diameter is smaller than the header.

● Cross (Straight Cross): A four-way fitting with all outlets in the same plane, arranged in a cross pattern. Used when pipeline requires symmetrical branching on both sides of the main run, such as in manifold assemblies or fire protection loops. (Note: Cross fittings are less common than tees due to higher stress concentration and are often replaced by two tees in high-pressure services.)

Materials & Standards
Carbon Steel: ASTM A234, stocked in straight and reducing types.
Stainless Steel: ASTM A403 (304L/316L), available in sizes 1.5" to 6", STD and Sch10.
Forged Steel: ASTM A105 / SA105, sizes 1/8" to 4", socket weld or threaded.
Malleable Iron: Black or galvanized, 1/8" to 6".
Cast/Forged Stainless: Grades 304/316, threaded or socket weld.

Connection Methods

Butt-weld, socket-weld, and threaded ends are available to suit different piping system requirements.

Applications

Widely used in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, water treatment, and general industrial piping to create branch connections, distribute flow, or combine multiple fluid streams.


Carbon Steel Buttweld
Carbon Steel Buttweld Tees conform to ASTM A234.
Both straight and reducing Carbon Steel Buttweld Tees are stocked.
Straight Tees are available in sizes from 1" to 20".
Reducing Tees are available in sizes from (1.50" X 1.00") to (12" X 10").


Stainless Buttweld
Stainless Buttweld Tees conform to ASTM A403.
Stocked in sizes from 1.50" to 6".
Both standard (STD) and schedule 10 are stocked.
Stainless Buttweld Tees are available in grades 304L and 316L (L=low carbon).

Forged Steel
Forged Steel Tees conform to ASTM A105 and ASME SA105.
Stocked in sizes from 1/8" to 4".
Forged Steel Tees are available with both socket weld and threaded ends.


Malleable Iron
Malleable Iron Tees are available in both black and galvanized finishes.
Both straight and reducing Malleable Iron Tees are stocked.
Straight Tees in sizes from 1/8" to 6".
Reducing Tees in sizes from (1/2" X 1/4") to (2.50" X 2.00").


Cast Stainless
Cast Stainless Tees are stocked in sizes from 1/8" to 4".
Available in grades 304 and 316.
Both threaded and socket weld end Cast Stainless Tees are stocked.


Forged Stainless
Forged Stainless Tees conform to ASTM A182.
Stocked in sizes from 1/4" to 2".
Both socket weld and threaded Forged Stainless Tees are in stock.
