Welded pipe standard length

Keywords: welded pipe standard length, welded steel pipe length
What are the standard length requirements for welded pipes?

The usual standard length requirements for welded pipes: straight seam welded pipe: length ≤ 12000mm; spiral welded pipe: length ≤ 16000mm.

Length requirements of straight seam welded pipe:

Commonly used welded steel pipes in the world are divided into two types according to their length, namely short welded pipes and long welded pipes. In our country's standards, welded steel pipes can be divided into long welded pipes and specified length welded pipes according to their length. Among them, the specified length welded pipe refers to the straight seam welded pipe with a length of 12000mm or less.

When implementing the latest standards, the length requirements for straight seam welded pipes (ERW pipe & LSAW pipe) are:
Length ≤12000mm.

This requirement is mainly to ensure the convenience of production and storage of welded pipes, and also helps to control the quality of the pipes.

At the same time, when detecting the length of straight seam welded pipes, laser scanning or manual measurement methods are often used.

Length requirements of spiral welded pipe:
Spiral welded pipe is a larger type of welded pipe that is widely used in petroleum, natural gas, chemical industry, water supply and other fields. According to international standards, the length of spiral welded pipes should not exceed 16000mm.

In our country's standards, the length requirements of spiral welded pipes are:
Length ≤16000mm.

Likewise, this requirement is mainly to ensure the convenience of production and storage, and to control the quality of welded pipes.
When testing the length of spiral welded pipes, advanced testing equipment such as laser scanners or CNC production lines are often used.

Common specifications and uses of welded pipes:

1. Welded pipes with a diameter less than 76mm are used in steel structures, machinery manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, steel furniture and other fields.
2. Welded pipes with diameters between 76mm and 159mm, usually used for general manufacturing, transportation pipelines and foundation piles.
3. Welded pipes with a diameter greater than 159mm are generally used in oil and gas transportation, underground pipelines, bridge construction and other fields.
4. Welded pipes with thinner walls are used for wire tubes, while welded pipes with thicker walls can be used in motorcycle frames, cold drawing, deep drawing and other heavy-duty machinery manufacturing.

Summarize:

In the implementation of the latest standards, the maximum length requirements for straight seam welded pipes and spiral welded pipes are 12000mm and 16000mm respectively. The formulation of this requirement is beneficial to the production and storage of welded pipes, and can also ensure that the quality of the pipes meets national standards. In actual operations, the use of laser scanning, manual measurement, and advanced CNC testing equipment for inspection can better ensure the quality and safety of welded pipes.
