Introduction to the structure and use of five common types of pipe flanges:
1. Plate flange
Plate flange is a flange used to connect pipes. It consists of a flange, a gasket and a bolt. It can be divided into flat welding flange, butt welding flange and flange flange. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical, water treatment, shipbuilding and nuclear power. The flange has a simple structure and is easy to process and install, but has poor sealing performance. It is generally only suitable for low-pressure, low-temperature and pipeline systems that do not require high requirements.
2. Clamp flange
Clamp flange, also known as clamp flange, is a way to connect flanges and pipelines. It can be connected by clamping the double-ended pipelines. Its structure is annular and consists of a clamping clamp, a flange, a gasket and a bolt. This flange is suitable for general low-pressure and medium-pressure systems, with easy installation, fast speed and high reliability.
3. Threaded flange
Threaded flange is one of the commonly used flange connection methods, usually used for low-pressure, small-diameter, butt-threaded pipe connections. It has a simple structure and consists of a flange, a gasket and a thread. When connecting, it only needs to be connected with a steel pipe thread and the gasket is pressed with a flange. Threaded flanges are suitable for general low-pressure, small-diameter pipelines and food, pharmaceutical and light industry fields.
4. Blind flange
Blind flange is a device that blocks the hole of a pipeline or equipment, usually used for repairing, cleaning or inspecting pipelines or equipment. Its structure is usually composed of a blind plate and bolts. When installing, the blind plate is installed in the pipeline and fixed to the flange with bolts. Blind flanges are suitable for pipelines or equipment that require high sealing performance, and are often used in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food fields.
5. Socket welding flange
Socket welding flanges are generally used in heavy-duty pipeline systems to connect metal pipes of different materials or thicknesses. Its structure is a flange at one end for socket welding pipelines and a flat working surface at the other end for connecting flanges. The flange has good sealing and pressure resistance, and is suitable for pipeline systems with high temperature, high pressure and corrosive media.
The above is an introduction to the five common types of flange structures and uses. Different types of flanges should be selected and used according to actual conditions to ensure the normal operation and safe use of pipelines.
