What are the methods for lowering casing for oil casing pipe?

Keywords: oil casing pipe, lowering casing, casing pipe installation, cementing operation, casing running
Casing pipe is an important device for supporting and fixing oil wells, and there are various ways to install it. Let's take a detailed look at the methods for lowering casing for oil casing pipe.

Casing operation:

1. Manual installation
This is the most common way to install oil casing. The casing is manually placed into the well section by section until the casing reaches the desired position. The casing is connected together by threaded connection or welding. Casing operation requires the use of special casing equipment and tools to ensure the smooth lowering of the casing and the reliability of the connection. This installation method is simple to operate and is suitable for some smaller wellheads.

2. Mechanical installation

Mechanical installation refers to the method of placing the casing into the well with the help of mechanical equipment. Usually, equipment such as winches and hydraulic lifting platforms are used to improve efficiency and reduce labor costs. It is suitable for large oil fields and deepwater wells.

3. Drilling rig installation
During drilling operations, oil casing can be directly installed into the well through a drilling rig. This method can complete the installation of casing while drilling, improve work efficiency, and reduce wellhead operation time.

4. Tail pipe installation
In some deeper wellheads, in order to reduce the difficulty and risk of operation, the tail pipe installation method can be used. That is, the casing is first sent into the well with the tail pipe, and then the casing is placed into the well through equipment such as winches and hydraulic lifting platforms.

5. Climbing installation
When the wellhead is small or there are obstacles, the climbing installation method can be used. That is, the casing is placed in sections into the well, and then the casing is gradually raised to the desired position by a lift or other equipment.

Cementing operation:
After the casing is lowered into the well, cementing operations are required to fill the annular space between the casing and the well wall with cement slurry to fix the casing and prevent the crossflow of formation fluids. Cementing operations require the use of cementing equipment and cement slurry to ensure that the cementing quality meets the requirements.

Special installation methods:
In some special cases, such as horizontal wells and large-reach wells, special oil casing installation methods may be required. For example, in horizontal wells, the method of continuous tubing casing can be used; in large-reach wells, the method of rotary guide casing can be used.

In general, there are many ways to install oil casing, and choosing the appropriate installation method depends on the specific situation and needs. When installing oil casing, it is necessary to strictly follow the operating procedures and safety requirements to ensure that the equipment is safe and reliable and the wellhead operation is carried out smoothly.
