What are the quality factors that affect seamless pipes & tubes? Let’s analyze them in detail:

(1) Temperature
Temperature is the most important factor affecting the quality of steel pipes. First of all, the uniformity of the heating temperature of the steel pipe blank directly affects the uniform wall thickness and inner surface quality of the perforated steel pipe capillary tube, and then affects the wall thickness quality of the seamless pipe product. Secondly, the temperature and uniformity of the steel pipe during rolling (especially the final rolling temperature) are related to the mechanical properties, outer diameter and other dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the product delivered in the hot-rolled state, especially when the steel billet or tube billet is overheated or even When overheated, waste products will be produced. Therefore, in the production process of hot-rolled seamless pipes, heating and controlling the deformation temperature in strict accordance with the process requirements are the first tasks that must be done.

(2) Process adjustment

Process adjustment and work quality mainly affect the geometric appearance quality of steel pipes. For example, the adjustment of the piercing machine and the pipe rolling machine affects the wall thickness accuracy of seamless pipe products, and the adjustment of the sizing machine is related to the outer diameter accuracy and straightness of the seamless steel pipe. Moreover, process adjustments also affect whether the rolling process can proceed normally.

(3) Tool quality
The quality of the tool is good or bad, stable or not, directly related to whether the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the seamless pipe can be effectively controlled as well as the tool consumption; the quality of the surface treatment (chrome plating) of the mandrel, first, affects the inner surface of the steel pipe. Secondly, it affects mandrel consumption and production costs.

(4) Process cooling and lubrication
The cooling quality of the perforation head and roller not only affects their service life, but also affects the quality control of the internal and external surfaces of the seamless pipe. The cooling and lubrication quality of the mandrel will first affect the inner surface quality of the seamless steel pipe, the wall thickness accuracy of the seamless pipe and the consumption of the mandrel; it will also affect the load during rolling.

(5) Removal and control of debris on the surface of rolled pieces

This refers to the timely and effective removal of oxide scale on the inner and outer surfaces of steel pipe capillaries and raw pipes before rolling deformation, and the control of re-oxidation. Nitrogen blowing and borax spraying treatment of the inner hole of capillary steel pipes, pipe rolling and high-pressure water descaling at the fixed (reduction) diameter entrance can effectively improve and improve the quality of the inner and outer surfaces.
