How to detect the quality of spiral pipe?

The quality inspection method of spiral pipe (ssaw) is as follows:

1. Surface quality inspection: 

The surface quality of the spiral steel pipe is inspected by visual observation or machine inspection, including defects such as surface flatness, cracks, pores, scratches, weld bumps, burrs, and protrusions.


2. Size inspection: 

The size inspection of the spiral steel pipe includes parameters such as pipe diameter, wall thickness and length. Pipe diameter is usually measured with calipers or micrometers, wall thickness can be measured with ultrasonic or mechanical thickness gauges, and length can be measured with steel tape or laser distance gauges.

3. Inspection of physical methods: 

The physical properties of spiral steel pipes include parameters such as hardness, yield strength, tensile strength and elongation. These parameters are usually detected by methods such as tensile test, impact test and hardness test.


4. Hydrostatic pressure test: 

The hydrostatic pressure test of the spiral steel pipe is a method to detect the leakage and strength of the steel pipe. In the test, the inside of the steel pipe is filled with water under a certain pressure to observe whether there is any leakage and deformation. The test pressure is usually set according to the standard requirements.


5. Density test: 

The tightness test is used to detect whether there are non-dense defects in the spiral steel pipe, such as pores, cracks, incomplete penetration and loose tissue. Commonly used methods include radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing, and eddy current testing.


6. Metallographic structure detection: 

Metallographic structure detection is a method to determine its internal structure and defects by observing and analyzing the metallographic structure of spiral steel pipes. Commonly used methods include metallographic microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive spectroscopy.


The quality inspection of spiral steel pipe needs to be carried out from many aspects, including surface quality, size, physical properties, hydrostatic pressure test, compactness inspection and metallographic inspection. Through these testing methods, the quality of the spiral steel pipe can be fully understood to ensure that it meets the requirements of relevant standards and regulations.
