Resistance butt welding

Keywords:
Butt welding process According to the working principle of the butt welding machine, the butt welding process can be divided into resistance butt welding and flash butt welding:
Resistance butt welding: refers to the end of the steel bar is heated to the plastic state, the power is cut off, and then heated to achieve plastic connection. This welding process is easy to produce oxidation and slag inclusions at the joint parts, and requires the cross section of the steel bar to be smooth and flat, and at the same time, the power consumption during welding is large, and the power of the welder is required to be large, so it is rarely used.

Flash butt welding: means that during the welding process, molten metal particles are sprayed from the end joints of the steel bars to present a spark (ie, flash). At the same time as the molten metal is ejected, the oxide and the slag are also taken out, so that the quality of the butt welded joint is good, and thus it is widely used, especially for the joint of low carbon steel and low alloy steel.

The following matters should be noted during operation:

1. Select the equipment of the corresponding capacity according to the technical requirements. The air switch, primary line, secondary cable, equipment and control box should be connected to the ground wire.
2. Check if the equipment is in good condition, the timer is accurate, check whether the control button is active, and whether the mechanical transmission parts are flexible.
3. Wear safety protective equipment such as goggles, gloves, insulated shoes, and overalls during operation.
4. When clamping, be sure to tighten the clamp to avoid loosening, falling, mechanical damage and personal accidents.
5. Be sure to carefully place the asbestos pad under the flux tank to avoid scalding and scalding.
6. During the operation, when moving the machine head, pay attention to the primary line and the secondary line not to be damaged, so as to avoid electric shock and electric shock.
7. Operators should wear goggles and hats when performing flash welding to prevent arcs from irritating the eyes and melting metal to burn the skin.
8. After welding, remove the metal splash from the jaws and the surrounding area. Always keep the machine clean.
9. All parts of the machine should be filled with lubricating fluid.
10.AC contactors and relays should be kept clean and the electrical contacts should be sanded once every other month with fine sandpaper.
