How to improve the weld quality of spiral pipe?

Keywords: spiral pipe weld quality, spiral welded pipe

With the development of science and technology, spiral welded pipes are widely used in the construction of tunnels, docks, bridges, etc., especially the use of large-diameter welded pipes. In recent years, more and more projects have adopted spiral welded pipes. The quality of the welds has a great influence on the quality of the spiral pipes. Therefore, spiral pipe manufacturers have high requirements for the quality of the welds. People can understand the factors that affect the quality of the welds, so that we can better process the welds of spiral pipes and help people choose high-quality spiral pipes.

How to improve the weld quality of spiral pipe?

1. Control of welding temperature
The size of the welding temperature will affect the welding effect, and the quality of the weld will be affected. During the welding process, the temperature must be well controlled.

2. Removal of welding scars
After welding and extrusion, weld scars are prone to appear at the weld seam, which will affect the surface effect of the spiral pipe, and the weld scars can be treated well by using the cutter on the machine frame.

3. Control the extrusion force

When the edge of the tube blank is heated, the mutual penetration of metal particles can be realized through extrusion, which can form a firm weld, but too small or too large extrusion force is not conducive to the formation of the weld.

Welding process of spiral pipe:

In terms of welding process, the welding method of spiral welded pipe and straight seam steel pipe is the same, but straight seam welded pipe will inevitably have many T-shaped welds, so the probability of welding defects is also greatly increased, and the welding residual stress at T-shaped welds is large, and the weld metal is often in a three-dimensional stress state, which increases the possibility of cracks.

Moreover, according to the technical regulations of submerged arc welding, each weld should have an arc starting point and an arc extinguishing point, but each straight seam welded pipe cannot meet this condition when welding the circular seam, so there may be more welding defects at the arc extinguishing point.
