The power power of 60Hz is converted to high frequency power and used for solid metal welding with 90% efficiency. In high frequency welding, the welding power is generally over 100kW, and the power of 4/5 is consumed by heating, impedance, roller and billet heating.Therefore, the key to minimize power loss is to set reasonable coils, impedances and reasonable configurations of rolling mill.In most cases, the power loss can be reduced by 50% by optimizing the welding process, which can improve the welding quality, reduce the downtime and increase the output.

The high frequency welding mechanism is: the voltage is through the edge of the opening part of the pipe, and the induction is used to reach the convergence point.When the current flows through the junction, the metal is heated quickly.By using the pressure of the extrusion roll, the heat is pressed together by the melting of the metal, and the impurity is then squeezed out of the weld.

Technically, the low frequency current passes through the resistance component, and the impedance is the primary consumption.As the frequency increases, the magnetic field increases, the inductive resistance becomes the main factor in impedance, and increases with the increase of frequency.In the welding process, as the induction coil of the primary windings, the size should be appropriately smaller.The power can be regulated by electromagnetic coupling, and the magnetic loss caused by high frequency is related to the coil turns and current.A power welded tube with a frequency of 60Hz will require a coil of hundreds of turns and thousands of ampere current;High frequency welding is usually a 7 percent coil and hundreds of ampere current.In addition, high frequency welding can also benefit the "skin effect" and "proximity effect".

The low efficiency of high frequency welding operation is because the position of induction coil and impedance is not very good.When the voltage is added to the edge of the billet, part of the current flows through the v-shaped area along the edge of the strip and heats the steel side;Another part of the current flows through the inner ring of the open tube body, and the outer ring surface is returned to generate power loss.
